Autonomous Systems Meetup at Constructor University

The first Autonomous Systems Meetup of the year took place at Constructor University. For the first time, we deliberately hosted the event outside the Technology Park, opening up a new venue in Bremen-Nord. This expansion of location was very well received by participants and also provided an opportunity to involve new stakeholders from the regional innovation ecosystem.

Constructor University is currently working intensively on building a team for autonomous Formula 1 race cars. This project served as an exciting thematic anchor for the meetup and offered valuable insights into current developments at the intersection of research, teaching, and applied technology.

The meetup featured several engaging presentations: Ilia Shimchik from Constructor University shared insights into Formula 1 and autonomous racing systems. The Bremergy team from the University of Bremen presented their work on designing and building a race car as part of the Formula Student competition. Matthias Rick from the Drives Team at TOPAS introduced the work and development of our autonomous driving vehicles.

The presentations offered a wide range of perspectives—from technical fundamentals and practical implementations to future development potential in the field of autonomous systems.

This was followed by an in-depth exchange between the speakers as well as representatives from Constructor University, Bremergy, and TOPAS. The meetup not only provided valuable technical input but once again highlighted the importance of personal exchange within the community.

The next meetup will take place at DFKI. Sign up here: www.meetup.com/bremen-autonomous-systems-meetup/events/314538483/
